All of these are suggestions based on your locations so that you can take advantage of seeing some of the sites along the way. You can skip all of these items if you would like. Typically from landing in Dublin we recommend seeing a few things along the way to hotel. On this *Rough Draft* layout are just general recommendations but days and courses can be switched or adjusted as you gather your thoughts on if you want to go to Ireland and where. The schedule is based on the most efficient way of letting you play the courses but still see some of the renowned sights to see. This entire schedule is PDF available if you need an emailed copy of this *drafted* example of what your trip could look like.

Although referred to as a Castle, the residence at Ardgillan is a large country-styled house with castellated embellishments. Royal Portrush Golf Club is a private golf club in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The 36-hole club has two links courses, the Dunluce Links (the championship course) and the Valley Links. The former is one of the courses on the rota of the Open Championship and last hosted the tournament in 2019. In 1951, Royal Portrush first hosted the Open Championship, the oldest of golf's major championships; it was the first Open tournament not held on the island of Great Britain. The Open returned to Portrush in 2019, and it will host again in 2025. It also hosted the Irish Open in 2012, the first in Northern Ireland since 1953. The Dunluce Links course is considered to be one of the best courses in the world. It was ranked fourth by Golf World in their list of "The 100 greatest courses in the British Isles" in November 1996. Golf Magazine ranked it twelfth in their list of the Top 100 Courses in the World, and Golf Digest ranked it as the fourth best course outside the United States in 2007.

The Dunluce Links is rated as one of the most challenging and spectacular links courses in the world. The Links is named after the nearby ruins of the medieval Dunluce Castle located on the edge of a basalt outcropping overlooking the sea between Portrush and Portballintrae. The original architect was the famed Harry Colt who produced a breathtaking golf links opening up views of the Atlantic Ocean. In 2015, in for the hosting of The Open in 2019, redesign works commenced under the stewardship of Martin Ebert. For the next 18 months, the shifting sands gave way to the building of five new greens, eight new tee boxes, 10 new bunkers and the creation of two new holes, the 7th and 8th, on land which was once part of the Valley Links.

Free entry Closes at 5pm The Giant's Causeway is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic fissure eruption. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 & In a 2005 poll of Radio Times readers, the Giant's Causeway was named the fourth-greatest natural wonder in the United Kingdom. Most of the columns are hexagonal, although some have four, five, seven, or eight sides. The tallest are about 12 metres (39 ft) high, and the solidified lava in the cliffs is 28 metres (92 ft) thick in places. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Northern Ireland, receiving over 998,000 visitors in 2019. Access to the Giant's Causeway is free of charge: it is not necessary to go via the visitor centre, which charges a fee.

Must book ahead of time - tickets do not sell out generally although online it might feel that way. Always have trouble booking tickets from the U.S. - they can book upon arrival in UK- I think this has to do with the IP Address. Closed at 430pm. NOTES on bridge: Connected to the cliffs by a rope bridge across the Atlantic Ocean, Carrick-a-Rede Island (home to a single building - a fisherman's cottage) is the final destination. Suspended almost 100 ft above sea level, the rope bridge was first erected by salmon fishermen over 250 years ago.
